Long live the streak
I once tweeted that I hope whatever number Lewis Ward's streak ends at, he takes that as his jersey number the following year to remind everyone what he had done.
It stopped at the one number I pray he doesn't take.
Let's look at some of the numbers behind Ward's re-writing of the CFL record book.

The Redblacks have had him kick a remarkable number of very short field goals. And now they've really let him loose this season, having him attempt three kicks from 50 yards or farther.
Though kickers are getting better and better as the years go on, it seems unlikely I'll be alive when someone finally challenges Ward's mark. Congratulations to him and the rest of the Redblacks field-goal team for a remarkable run.
Despite the fact that Ward is down to 96% for the season, he continues to be the most-valuable kicker in the league.

BC is Doing Something Right: Sergio Castillo actually leads in Points Above Expected if we just consider his field attempts (+9.03 to Ward's +8.97). Against Winnipeg, Castillo hit from 50+ for the fourth time this season.
