The Betting Perspective - BC @ HAM

BC @ Hamilton (-6.5): TOTAL 43.5

Week 14 of the Canadian Football League season kicks off in Hamilton Friday night, when the BC Lions battle the Ticats.

The Lions season has all but fallen apart and a loss to Hamilton this week would cement their failures. Michael Reilly has thrown four interceptions in the last three games, his struggles with turnovers come after only one pick in his first eight games in 2021. To make things worst, the Lions can't run the ball and simply don't, they're dead last in yards per game and attempts this year. On the defensive side of the ball, BC have the worst pass defense in the CFL, giving up more than 278 yards per game through the air. The Lions have also given up the most points against in the West division, two more than Edmonton but in one less game played.

The Ticats are feeling good rolling into this contest, thanks to the two worst teams on the schedule over the last couple of weeks. Hamilton stomped the Elks 39-23 in Edmonton last Friday, thanks to Jeremiah Masoli's sensational performance that saw him complete 17 of 24 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns. The Ticats can book first place in the division and the East Final at Tim Horton's Field if they win out, regardless of Toronto and Montreal's record the last three weeks. Now, Hamilton does play Toronto next, so the Ticats could have a look ahead spot in this one against Lions.

The betting line has the Ticats favored by 6.5 over BC and it seems like the books haven't adjusted to Hamilton's recent performances. The Lions did snap a four-game against the spread losing streak with a cover against the Argos last week. On the other hand, the Ticats have beat up on bad teams this season, including a 3-0 ATS record against the three current non-playoff teams.

Take Hamilton at home, with less than a touchdown spread.

Pick: Hamilton -6.5
