The Toronto Argonauts look to bounce back from their defeat a week ago to the Alouettes Saturday afternoon against the BC Lions.

The Lions are reeling after four straight defeats and some key injuries, including to receiver Lucky Whitehead. BC were tattooed last time out against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 45-0, that loss followed a 39-10 result against the Stampeders. Quarterback Michael Reilly has been held to under 200 passing yards in three consecutive games for the first time since 2013. Now, the Lions will get Lucky Whitehead back in the lineup against the Argos and it's great timing. BC are 4th in the West Division and are falling behind the race for a crossover spot in the standings. The Lions are two points behind the Ticats, which means Rick Campbell's team would miss the playoffs if they can't make up that ground.

Toronto lost first place in the East with the loss last week against Montreal. However, the Argos roll into action in Week 13 confident because of their stellar 4-0 home record at BMO Field. The 2021 edition of the boatmen are McLeod Bethel-Thompson's team after the move to ship out Nick Arbuckle this week to Edmonton. Bethel-Thompson has thrown nine touchdown passes in seven games against six interceptions. On the defensive side, the Argos pass defense has struggled over the last four games, giving up 1289 yards through air.

The field goal spread for the Argos is the largest for the boatmen against the Lions since 2015 but Toronto are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last 5 games as a home favorite.

And the Lions are 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The trends we should be looking to are on the total, BC have the worst pass defense in the CFL and Lucky Whitehead's return could mean an injection back into the Lions offense.

The Over is 5-0 in the Argonauts last 5 games overall so let's hope both defenses continue to struggle this week and there's a boatload of points Saturday in Toronto.
