Calgary @ BC (-3): TOTAL 44.5

Week 11 of the Canadian Football League season concludes in Vancouver Friday evening as the BC Lions host the all of sudden surging Calgary Stampeders.

The Stamps roll into BC feeling great after back-to-back wins over the Riders the last couple of weeks. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell chucked almost 300 yards and a score last Saturday. But despite the bounce back performance from the future hall of famer, most of the credit should be given to Calgary's defense for shutting down Saskatchewan's attack. The Stamps held the Riders to just 260 yards of total offense, including holding the tandem of Cody Fajardo and William Powell to less than 70 yards on the ground.

The Lions were only team in the CFL held out of action during the five-game schedule last week over the Thanksgiving holiday. Before their bye, the Lions lost back-to-back games against the Lions and Bombers, placing BC third place in the West division. Michael Reilly has been having flashbacks to the 2019 season the last few games, Reilly is once again running from defenders due to porous pass protection. BC will be without receiver Lucky Whitehead after he was placed on the six-game injured list, meaning more responsibility and attention from the opposition will fall on veteran Bryan Burnham. To make matters worst, the Lions defense have struggled this year as well, giving up a league-worst 293.8 passing yards per game.

The betting line movement for this Stamps, Lions matchup has been substantial, with BC opening up as a pick'em and now sitting as -3 favorites.

A weird and probably meaningless trend in the Stamps favor, is Calgary are 14-0 against the spread in their last 14 Week 11 games.

A better run to back a bet is in the last eight head-to-head meetings, seven of those games have gone under the total. If the money keeps rolling in on the home team and it pushes the number past a field goal, the Stamps are probably the play.

Regardless, the Stamps are back in the playoff hunt and have been playing much better, expect that to continue against a banged up Lions team going in the wrong direction.

Pick: Calgary -3
