The Betting Perspective - SSK @ CGY

Saskatchewan (-2.5) @ Calgary: TOTAL 48

Week 9 of the Canadian Football League season wraps in Calgary, as the struggling Stampeders battle the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders.

For the Riders, they grabbed a big come from behind victory on the road last week in Vancouver over the Lions. Quarterback Cody Fajardo has thrown six interceptions over his last four games and was sacked four times versus BC. The one constant the Riders have had in 2021 has been their successful run game, Saskatchewan sit with the second most ground yards in the CFL. On the other side of the ball, the Riders have the league's best run defense, holding the opposition to under 500 yards through seven games.

As for the Stampeders, they're coming off a bye week following a loss to the Ticats in Week 7. Head Coach Dave Dickenson will roll with Bo Levi Mitchell once again at quarterback despite some quiet shouts for rookie backup Jake Maier needing a chance to grab the reigns. Mitchell has an awful two touchdown, seven interception ratio this season and the Stamps sit in the basement of the CFL's West Division. Calgary will receive some reinforcements Saturday night, stud safety Jamar Wall is healthy, he hasn't played since going down in the season opener against Toronto.

Looking at the betting line, we haven't seen much movement in terms of public dollars, the Riders remain at about a field goal favorite. The Stamps and Riders have gone over the total in four of their last five head-to-head matchups and this total is reflective of that trend. Another eye opening stat to keep note of, is the Riders have cruised against bad opponents, Saskatchewan are 7-0-1 against the spread in their last eight games versus teams with a losing record.

The Riders are a very good football team with a very obvious kryptonite. The Bombers.

This is a favorable matchup, only laying 2.5. Take Saskatchewan.

Pick: Saskatchewan -2.5
