The Betting Perspective - SSK @ HAM

Saskatchewan @ Hamilton (-5): TOTAL 42

The importance of this final week of the season contest lost all of its importance after last night's result.

The Alouettes losing to the Redblacks means the Ticats will host the East Semi-Final at Tim Horton's Field, with the winner moving on to face the Argos in Toronto.

These two teams faced each other in Week 2 of the season, with the Riders laying a 30-8 beatdown on the Ticats. In that game, Saskatchewan recorded six sacks on Jeremiah Masoli and Dane Evans.

The Riders will start backup quarterback Isaac Harker, the second year slinger has only attempted 13 passes in 2021, but has completed on 10 of those attempts. Saskatchewan will face the Stampeders in Regina next week, with the victor of the contest heading to the West Final in Winnipeg to face the Bombers.

As for Hamilton, the Tiger-Cats might have caught a break with the Als loss to Ottawa, the result allows Hamilton to not put their controversial quarterback picture to the test. Many outsiders and Ticats fans still can't understand why Jeremiah Masoli continues to be at the helm over backup Dane Evans, the veteran signal caller has only thrown nine touchdown passes in eight games and has yet to beat a 2021 playoff team.

The betting line in this one has seen some movement in the Riders favor after the importance of this matchup was diminished for the home side. The Riders are now getting 5-points, down significantly from the 7-points they were getting Friday night.

Let's come to the conclusion that Dane Evans gets some run in the game, the Ticats at home might be the play because Evans wants to prove a point.

Even if it goes unnoticed by Orlondo Steinauer and the Hamilton coaching staff.

Pick: Hamilton -5
