Saskatchewan @ Winnipeg (-3.5): TOTAL 41.5

The Saskatchewan Roughriders look to avenge their Week 5 loss Saturday afternoon in Winnipeg against the Blue Bombers.

It's abundantly clear through the first month of the Canadian Football League season, one major thing needs to happen to see Saskatchewan in the Grey Cup in December. Quarterback Cody Fajardo needs to remain relatively healthy for the home stretch, unlike the West final in 2019, when he was visibly hampered against Winnipeg. Cody Fajardo was knocked around repeatedly last week versus the Bombers, some hits he received were of his own doing as he continues to take unnecessary contact when he runs the football and refuses to slide. Winnipeg were also able to sack Fajardo three times in the contest and pressure him into three interceptions. Saskatchewan have been unable to get running back William Powell going early in the season, he hasn't scored since Week 1 and is a yard per carry behind his 2019 production.

On the other side, Winnipeg's defense looks to have rebounded after a few weeks of some minor cracks against Calgary and Toronto. Willie Jefferson and Jackson Jeffcoat had a huge day in Week 5, combining for five tackles and two sacks. It's been remarkable to see Winnipeg defensive coordinator Richie Hall use Willie Jefferson in an even more diverse manner than his defensive MOP season a few years ago. Jefferson continues to drop into coverage, making underneath passes to his side of the field more challenging for opposing quarterbacks simply because of his incredible length and athleticism. As for Zach Collaros, he continues to produce big plays for a huge chunk of his production. Last week against the Riders, Collaros had four passes of over 27 yards, including a touchdown to Nic Demski.

The Riders faulted as home favorites last Sunday, now the ball is Winnipeg's court as the Bombers are -3.5 point favorites. There are a few eye-opening trends coming into this game, Bombers are 6-1 in their last 7 games ATS versus the Riders and the last seven contests between these two teams have gone under the total.

The Riders are too good to not bounce back offensively Saturday and the Bombers haven't put up fantastic point totals this season. Get the line at more than a field goal and feel comfortable for a pendulum swing back to the Roughriders.
