The Betting Perspective - TOR @ SSK

Toronto @ Saskatchewan (-3): TOTAL 44.5

The Saskatchewan Roughriders host the Toronto Argonauts in Regina Friday night. The Riders were defeated just last week against the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg while the Argos grabbed a close win over their highway rivals, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Argos looked a lot better last week than they did on Labour Day in Hamilton. Toronto quarterback Nick Abuckle threw for 236 yards, a touchdown and a pair of interceptions in the rematch against the Ticats. The Argos had their best performance of the season in Week 3 against the Bombers when they were able to jump on Winnipeg early in the game at BMO Field. It's another major step-up in competition for the boatmen against the Riders, who come into this one on a two-game losing skid. Toronto potentially have a game-changer on their defensive line in Shawn Oakman, who grabbed a pair of sacks in the Argos victory against Hamilton.

As for the home team in this matchup, the Riders were bullied the last couple of weeks versus the defending Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Last week, quarterback Cody Fajardo was forced from the game with a potential concussion after hitting his head off the ground. Fajardo is still listed as the starting quarterback on the depth chart, but health concerns still exist for Saskatchewan's signal caller. A new problem seemed to pop up for the Riders against the Bombers in the home-and-home, they gave up seven sacks over the two games but it could simply be the quality of the opponent that led to the shaky protection.

The betting movement for this one has surprisingly leaned to the Argos, Saskatchewan are -3 favorites right now after the line opened up at -5. Toronto grabbed a win last week but their offense still is inconsistent, Nick Arbuckle is still working through quirks with his new team and new head coach in his first year as a starter.

Saskatchewan are still a very good football team and are at home this week. Toronto haven't won in Regina since 2016 and the Riders losing three games in a row seems like a stretch.

Take the favorites laying a field goal.

Pick: Saskatchewan -3
