BC @ Saskatchewan (-6) - TOTAL 48
by Kyle Melo

Week 1 continues Friday night with the Cody Fajardo led Saskatchewan Roughriders hosting the newly named Michael Reilly and the BC Lions. The matchup also starts the tenure of new Lions head coach Rick Campbell.
The objective of Canada's most-western team in the last two years was very simple, do a better job protecting the top prize of 2019 Free Agency Michael Reilly. The last time we played football, Reilly was running for his life virtually every time he dropped back to survey the field. The BC Lions led the CFL in sacks given up with 58 in 2019, leading to the hiring of Kelly Bates as Offensive Line coach midseason after the organization let go Bryan Chiu from the position. The Lions took a big step to shore up their protection by signing former Hamilton Tiger-Cat tackle Ryker Mathews in February of 2020.
As for the Riders, they look to improve on their West Final departure in 2019 where the squad fell short to the eventual Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Quarterback Cody Fajardo is coming off a career season that saw him eclipse 4000 passing yards, which awarded him with a new contract from the Riders. Head coach Craig Dickenson heads into his second season at the helm in Regina, the Riders are looking to play in their first Grey Cup since 2013.
The Lions come into the Prairies getting 6 points, but Cody Fajardo is healthy again and ready to start the 2021 season with a bang.
As for Michael Reilly, he hasn't been able to replicate production from his Edmonton days; until we see it, be confident in riding Saskatchewan -6.
Good luck!!!
